No, Live Clean products are SLS- free. Live Clean has a commitment to provide products that are better for you and better for the environment, and as a result, we have a list of ingredients that we will never use in any of our formulations - SLS is on this list.
SLS refers to Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate. These are high foaming harsh surfactants used as the primary cleanser in the majority of personal care products. SLS is an irritant in personal care products.
No, Live Clean products are paraben- free. Live Clean has a commitment to provide products that are better for you and better for the environment, and as a result, we have a list of ingredients that we will never use in any of our formulations - parabens are on this list. Parabens are synthetic preservatives used for extending product shelf life and have been linked to sensitivity and irritation issues. There is some evidence to suggest caution in the use of or, exposure to, parabens.
No, Live Clean products are phthalate- free. Live Clean has a commitment to provide products that are better for you and better for the environment, and as a result, we have a list of ingredients that we will never use in any of our formulations - phthalates are on this list.
Phthalates are synthetic fragrance compounds used in personal care products to make the scent last longer. There are some studies that suggest that phthalates are not safe. Live Clean uses only fragrances that are phthalate free.
No, Live Clean® products do not contain DEA. DEA stands for Diethanolamine, a severely irritating and corrosive ingredient used in personal care products for a rich lather. The EU has banned DEA from shampoos.
Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate is not SLS. In the Health & Beauty Care/Cosmetic industry, SLS refers to a specific type of surfactant known as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or its derivative Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES). SLS has been used for decades and is still used in other mass-market shampoos because it’s a cheap and powerful degreaser, but it can be harsh on the scalp. Live Clean® products do not contain SLS. Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate is not referred to as SLS in the cosmetic industry and has a completely different profile in terms of performance and mildness.
The majority of our products are gluten free, but we do have some products that are not. For consumers who are sensitive to gluten, we always suggest that they test a tiny amount of product on the back of their palm to determine if the product is suitable for them. We purchase ingredients from external suppliers and cannot guarantee that these ingredients were not exposed to or have had incidental contact with gluten.
Plant derived ingredients are natural, renewable, replenishable and sustainable, and therefore the eco-conscious choice to respect, preserve and make as little environmental impact as possible.
Anything that is derived from the earth is natural. This includes petro-chemicals, which are not renewable or sustainable. The use of petro-chemicals depletes our natural resources. Live Clean uses only natural ingredients that are renewable and sustainable.
Hypoallergenic means a product is designed to reduce or minimize the possibility of an allergic response. Live Clean Baby has been formulated to be mild and gentle to baby's delicate skin. Live Clean Baby products are hypoallergenic and have a phthalate free fragrance.

All Live Clean products are pH balanced for their application and formulated to be mild and gentle, with products available for all hair and skin types.
We believe that synthetic ingredients should not be used in any natural personal care product. The only instance when a synthetic material is acceptable is when there is no viable alternative.
Live Clean lists the percentage of plant and natural derived ingredients on every product. We stand behind our ingredients and products, and choose to be very open with our consumers.
